In 1970 Alvin Toffler in 'Future Shock' had predicted how rapid social change is going to impact our lives.
I can see it happening with the advent of 3G now. Travel will be necessary only for the thrill and adventure. For business and commerce 3G will pave the way for conferences and seminars with all participants sitting in the comfort of their residential offices.
Just the other day at a family friend’s wedding, there was this young boy carrying a laptop around! He was webcasting the wedding rituals and the general ambience to his friends who could not attend due to prior commitments!
Now with 3G and live streaming using phonecams like the N8, the whole process will be classier and less cumbersome!
Will be a great help in densely populated areas and parking woes will be a thing of the past. We will start living in a virtual world and essaying into a real world only to feel the real thing.
All seems so very exciting now that we are on the threshhold of such a momentous timeline in the evolution of mankind!
