Celebrate the Black Dog!

I dedicate this post and the next twenty nine posts to the Grand Old Man of Scotch – Black Dog! The occasion? Well, yes, the coveted Black Dog is brought out from the bar only on special occasions as we all know! And what better occasion could there be than celebrating one hundred and thirty years of this celebrated Scotch! Yes! You got it right! Black Dog celebrates a hundred and thirty years of giving people an occasion to celebrate!

Black Dog is indeed one of the world’s finest Scotch whisky. It has a fascinating history. As per the brewers of this fine Scotch - In the year 1883 Walter Millard, a Scot from the British East India Company came searching for the perfect Scotch and eventually discovered the great taste of this whisky in these misty shores of Scotland. Being a keen angler, Walter Millard named the whisky Black Dog in honour of his favourite salmon fishing fly used in the Spey and Tay rivers of Scotland since the early 19th century.
So, now we know that Black Dog has nothing to do with the canines and everything to do with angling and relaxing!
Do check out this short three minute video for the wonderful history of this legendary Scotch.

Over the coming days, we shall delve into what has made Black Dog an International Luxury Brand that it is today and how it has become a symbol of absolute fine taste and luxury.
