An overcast sky

And relentless rain

Mark the onset of a wet weekend.

Am ready to face it

With a book waiting to be read.

I shall gaze out the window

And watch my dreams unfold

On the ever changing moody skies

Full of mischievous clouds

That hop around with the

Swiftness of the breeze.

Mumbai monsoons

The heat charred the skies

Which then melted

And poured, after the

Thunder and lightning.

The rains pulled down the

High summer temperatures

And brought the aroma

Of fresh moist earth.

Heavenly it is, the ambiance,

For a singer to burst out in song

And the dancer to do a jig

The monsoons have arrived!

Politicians use religion and religious leaders to further their cause.

Baba Ramdev, a yoga teacher, has shocked the politicians by beating them at their own game. Politicians hidden under the safety blanket of democracy have been exposed. His prowess at mobilising mass support has them running scared.

People equate probity in public life with religion.
