Book review of 'My Gita'

My GitaMy Gita by Devdutt Pattanaik
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An Amazing read!
Devdutt Pattanaik lays it out in simple terms the meaning of Dharma, Adharma, Karma and many other concepts that are used so loosely these days. In this book he also talks abiut the Ramayana and Mahabharat and the protagonists therein.
One can comprehend the history of Hinduism through the years, before it became an ism. The best part is he does not use jargon nor high falutin' words to express himself. This is a must read for anyone who wishes to understand the concept of rebirth, soul, life and death.
Quote 'The earliest word for God in the Rig Veda is 'ka', which is the first alphabet in Sanskrit, from which come all the interrogative pronouns such as what, when, where, why and how. Thus divinity had something to do with enquiry' Unquote.
It is a mind expanding book!

I bought the Kindle edition of the book from Amazon.in

  2. I have read about this book and I'd be interested in reading it, especially having read a few interpretations of The Gita, among which my favourite is Coming Bhave's "Talks on the Gita."

    1. Auto-correct is getting me down. That should read as Vinoba Bhave. Sorry for the slip.
