A beautiful tale of how a writer thinks about her homeland and of the times and relationships while growing up in a middle class family in Turkey.
Savas has different perspectives at different times, obviously, while growing up about the city she has grown up and about the people who influenced her. She also writes about these thoughts when she is talking to the reader and then how the perspective changes while talking to her new found writer friend in Paris.
Her description of Turkey in the final analysis made me think she is talking of Mumbai. How things change in the city in the blink of an eye. It's eerie at some level!
Overall a relaxed read, takes the reader along with the flow.
