No Country Man - Book review

No Country ManNo Country Man by Kedarnath Gm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A laid back conversational write up about Kedarnath's travel from India to Greece and back via Iran on his Royal Enfield 350cc Thunderbird.
Reading it makes you feel as if he is narrating his tales around a bonfire over a couple of drinks.
It is a honest, no holds barred write up about his interaction with all the people he meets on his journey.
Since he has couchsurfed his way, it has helped him discover how cultures shape attitudes of people. Staying with locals and living a few days the way they do, goes a long way in educating oneself.
He does not write about monuments and museums that he visits since there is plenty of information about it on the world wide internet.
Here are a couple of his insights -
..riding long distance stirs up one's thoughts in unique directions.
The power of giving and selflessness brings only good things to those who practice it; and when it is reciprocated with the same attitude, creates beauty for all.

A must read book for all travelers, specially for those on shoe string budgets.
